Weekly

A focused newsletter on Nordic and Baltic defence, for people in the region who want the week's briefings

What an issue holds

Once a week: what a Nordic or Baltic ministry briefed on, joint exercises held or announced across the eight countries, procurement decisions and budget changes, and one piece of analysis that explains what the week adds up to. Written for someone in the region, not for a NATO summit delegate.

What it leaves out

Not unverified claims about troop movements, not commentary that treats every exercise as an imminent crisis, not opinion pieces arguing for a policy change, not coverage of a single country's domestic politics with no defence angle.

Where the news comes from

NATO, news, Nordic Council of Ministers, news, Government of Sweden, press releases, RUSI, research, Chatham House, publications, The Barents Observer.
